Regional Development Corporation is seeking an individual with a professional accounting designation to join our management team as Financial Services Manager. Regional Development Corporation is a crown corporation of the Province of New Brunswick with an annual budget of $160 million. The corporation is responsible for regional and community development initiatives and administers federal-provincial programs through its Special Operating Agency.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the successful candidate will be a member of the Senior Management team, participating in formulating corporate policy, establishing and monitoring priorities and evaluating corporate staffing requirements.
The Financial Services Manager has the lead responsibility for the preparation of regular accounting and financial reports, preparation of the annual financial statements, preparation and monitoring of the annual capital and ordinary budgets of the corporation, including the Special Operating Agency.
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree as well as a professional accounting designation and a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience. They must possess excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Sage Accpac, and Oracle Financials is considered an asset. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
The successful candidate must possess excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. A demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member is essential.

Our client, a large publically traded company involved in the acquisition, exploration, development and operating of producing mineral properties, is seeking a Director Compliance and Internal Audit to join their Halifax, Nova Scotia head office.
Reporting functionally to the Chief Financial Officer and directly to the Audit Committee you will be responsible for managing and delivering on the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance program and internal audit program. While managing an audit team you will conduct routine procedural audits, investigative assignments and control assessment exercises covering all of the Company's properties to identify areas of improvement and develop recommendations to strengthen internal controls and processes throughout the organization. In addition, you will work closely with department managers and the corporate team in developing annual and long term strategic plansfor the Company. Travel will be required.
The ideal candidate for this role has completed a professional accounting designation and has a strong knowledge of SOX 404 requirements. A true team player, you are proactive and work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Along with a positive attitude, strong work ethic is required as the successful candidate will be a self starter with proven initiative and strong project management skills. Experience in the mining and oil & gas industries is considered an asset, as is a proficiency in Spanish.
